Young Stroms To Broom Title
Graham Young went into the final game in this season's Torphichen Broom competition on the same points as Stewart Barr, but five shots difference behind. This all changed as the game went on as his team leads Alan Russell 2-0 after three ends, but a four in the fourth swung the game in Graham's favor. A two and a four for Graham's team wrapped up the game with a 12-0 win.
This meant that Stewart Barr would have to win his match against Basil Baird by more than seven shots to win the broom. This match was much closer than Graham's game as Stewart lead 2-1 after four ends. Basil would eventually take the lead in the seventh end, but a 4 in the eighth end gave Stewart a 7-4 victory but four shots shy of winning the Broom.
The last match of the Broom saw Scott Baird win three singles in the first four ends aginst Bob Graham who got on the scoreboard with a single in the sixth end. Scott then replayed with a 3 in the last end to give him a 6-1 victory.
