Midcalder Fail To Tame Stray Dogs In Directors Trophy Final

Midcalder Curling Club missed out on defending the Directors Trophy (Double Rink) after losing out to Stray Dogs Curling Club at Murrayfield Curling Rink.
The two teams playing for Midcalder on the day were Alan Russell, Graham Young, Andrew Brash and Jean Brash for Midcalder One and Stewart Barr, Scott Baird, Bob Graham (rested for an early game) and Graham Wood for Midcalder Two.
Both matches were close games in the first half of the final. But as the matches came to their conclusion Midcalder were made to make some risky shots to stay in the match. Midcalder One struggle in the second half of their game and ran out losing 8-3. Midcalder Two had a late comeback in their game, but were also unsuccessful as they ran out losing 7-5.
The final result saw Stray Dogs beat Midcalder 15-8 to win the Directors Trophy.
