Six Midcalder Juniors Playing At Junior Qualifier Event
Well done to the six Midcalder Curling Club members who were playing at the Scottish Curling Junior Championship Qualifier event at the Dewar Centre Perth.
We'll start off with Junior women, where Mhairi Barid playing for top seeds Jennifer Martin came top of Section A with four wins and one loss. Also in section A was Sophie Sinclair, who was playing for Karina Aitken. They qualified for the finals with four wins and one loss and had the nice scalp of beating top seeds Jennifer Martin 7-5.
Rebecca Baird playing for Amy MacDonald were in section B and unthough they didn't win any of their group games they still had an elimination game against the team which finished fifth in section A.
They played Rebecca Morrison in the elimination game and won 9-3. This qualified Amy MacDonald's for the finals.
In the Junior Men's section, David and James Baird just missed out on qualifying for the finals. Playing in the same team they went into their last game needing a win to qualify and unthough they held a 6-3 lead after seven ends, they unforchitly lost the game 8-6 and finished just outside the qualifying spot.
George Sinclair playing for Fraser Ewen in section C had some close games, but unforchitly never managed to get any wins.
