Midcalder Have The Biggest Hearts

Midcalder Curling Club was in action in the British Heart Foundation Bonspiel held at Murrayfield Curling Rink. Playing for Midcalder were Scott Baird, Harry Russell, Harry Macpherson and Jim Wilson and were playing against VET's Curling Club. Midcalder got off to a great start with a three in the first end, followed by a four in the second end. They were no stopping the team after that when they won the next six ends to win the game 15-0. They couldn't celebrate yet as Penicuik Curling Club were lying four shots in the last end with would have won the competition for them. Fortunately, their opposition cuts it down to two shots leaving Penicuik fourteen shots up.
The main reason for everyone playing of course is to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Gordon Deans was happy to announce that they raised over £880 on the day and over £10,000 in total from the competition.
