Midcalder Keep Interest Alive In Glenfarclas
Midcalder Curling Club kept there Division Two Glenfarclas Mid Lothian Province League alive after defeating Royal Bank of Scotland Curling Club in latest game. Playing for Midcalder on the night was Alan Russell, Graham Young, Scott Baird and Sophie Sinclair.
In a low scoring match, Midcalder held a 3-1 lead after five ends. In the sixth end RBS hit back with a two to tie the match. The last end saw Midcalder control the end and after RBS's last shot was unable to take shot, Midcalder shook hands for a 4-3 win.
Two weeks earlier Midcalder were up against Stray Dogs and this time the team was Stewart Barr, Graham Young, Scott Baird and John Sinclair. This was another close game and Stewart had a shot in the last end to win the game. Unfortunately for Midcalder the shot didn't come off, with Stray Dogs winning the game 5-3.
Midcalder Curling Club are still top of the league with ten points with Duddinston Curling Club second with nine points and Stray Dogs third with eight points with one game to go. The top two teams are promoted to division one.
