Bob Of To Flyer In Broom
The Torphichen Broom competition got underway for the 2015-2016 season and the first game up was Stewart Barr versus Graham Young and it was Graham's team that had had the better start after they swept into a 5-0 lead after three ends. Stewart then turned the tables scoring a 2 in the fifth end follow by a 4 in the sixth. Stewart's team then finished the comeback when they scored a 2 in the eighth end to win the match 8-5.
It wasn't just as close a match when Bob Graham took on Basil Baird as Bob's team won a 2 in the first end and after two blank ends won the next four ends to win the match 7-0.
In the final match of the week Alan Russell took a 4 off Scott Baird's team in the first end, they increased their lead when they scored a single in the fifth end to lead 5-0. Scott's team got right back into the match when they scored a 4 in the sixth, followed by a single in the seventh end to tie the match at 5-5. Alan was forced to play a big shot to score a 2 in the last end to win the match 7-5.
