Stoddart League Campaign Underway
Midcalder Curling Club got their Stoddart Cup league campaign under way for the 2015 season.
First game up was Alan Russell versus Bob Graham and it was Alan's team that held the upper hand after scoring 4 & 3 points in the second and third ends to lead the match 7-1. Bob closed the gap when he scored two 2's in the next two ends before Alan held his nerve to score a single in the last two ends. Three shot's were added to Alan's team for Bob's team only having three players leaving the final score of 12-5 to Alan.
Graham Young built up a good lead over John Sinclair's team after leading 6-1 after five ends. John closed the gap with a 3 in the next end before Graham scored a single in the last end. John's team were giving three shots for Graham's team only having three players and this made the game a draw at 7-7.
The last game was more one-sided match with Graham Wood taken on Basil Baird. Graham's team won four of the first five ends to lead the match 7-1. Basil got on the board with a single in the sixth end before Graham's finished of the match with a single in the last end to win the match 8-1.
